Class information

Attendance

Our whole school attendance target for this year is 96%. Good attendance is vital to ensure your child makes the progress they deserve, so please make this a priority. The class with the best weekly attendance now get the treat of caring for Tilly the tortoise in their class!

School times

Our doors open at 8:45 in the morning and will remain open until 9:00am and school finishes at 3:15pm. We have a breakfast club which starts at 8:15 and costs 50p per day.

PE

PE will be every Wednesday afternoon. Please ensure that your child wears a full PE kit (white top, black shorts or black joggers and a pair of black pumps) to school every Tuesday. Every item of your child’s PE kit should be labelled with your child’s full name. PE kits will be worn all day on Tuesday instead of school uniform. Your child should still bring their school jumper and coat with them.

Homework

Every Friday your child will receive homework. This will consist of a new reading book and some other challenges. It is an expectation that your child reads at home regularly and so their reading records must be completed every time they read their book at home. Reading records will be checked when returned. It is also expected that your child practices their times tables (1s, 2s, 5s and 10s) at home throughout the week. Homework will be sent out in a school book bag. Once your child has completed their homework, they should return it to school in their book bag by the following Thursday. This means that homework can be updated for the Friday, to be sent home again.

Water Bottles and Snacks:

Your child should bring a labelled water bottle daily so that they can drink this at the appropriate time. Prior to school (from 8:30 am), children will be able to purchase a healthy snack from our Tuck Shop, which they can eat at break time.

Uniform:

Please ensure that your child comes to school in their full uniform. Please see examples of appropriate clothing below. Children play out in all weathers and a warm coat may be needed for outdoor lessons. Children must have appropriate school shoes – trainers are not acceptable or any type of high heel. Please ensure all uniform is labelled with your child's name.
